Getting Started with Geminare

1. Getting Started - Technical Readiness Assessment

Working together with one of Geminare’s delivery partners, you will build a business continuity plan and identify the availability requirements of your organizations critical servers.

2. Connecting to Geminare’s Top Tier Data Center

Geminare is a completely integrated solution that requires no additional hardware, software, licensing, maintenance, training or support costs. Getting started with Geminare is as easy as having a certified Geminare partner create a dedicated VPN connection to our facility.

3. Data Replication

Once you are connected to Geminare's Top Tier data centers, replication begins; once completed all new data changes are replicated in real time at the block level greatly reducing the traffic required on your network. Geminare continuously performs consistency, permission and application specific checks to ensure replication and failover are running properly.

4. Failover Process

Geminare monitors the operations of your servers 24/7. When communication with a server fails or a maintenance downtime is requested, the replica server at our data center will automatically initiate the failover process. Failover is transparent to end-users as services continue to run at the Geminare data center the same way they would in your production environment. Failover services can be manually triggered for routine tasks such as server maintenance or triggered automatically in the event of an unplanned outage.

5. Failback Process

Organizations may run in failover mode for up to 5 business days without additional costs. This gives you the opportunity to repair or replace servers that may have experienced an outage. When your organization is ready to restore the operation a reverse replication and failover of the Geminare hosted servers and your master server occurs. At this point processes are switched back to the restored master server.

This entire process has occurred without interruption to your critical business services. And in most cases totally transparent to the users.
