Geminare History

Geminare was founded in 2004 with the goal of providing professional services and infrastructure solutions to small and mid-sized organizations looking for disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities. As technology and customer needs continued to evolve through 2005, it became apparent that data, while important, was not the key driver for business growth; instead it was reliable access to the mission-critical applications that facilitate business.

Geminare surveyed the vendor landscape and realized that while there were numerous data backup solutions on the market, there were no affordable solutions that delivered continuous application availability to the mid-market. Solutions were only available to Fortune 500 companies and remained financially outside of the grasp of the Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) market.

In 2006 Geminare launched the industry's first enterprise-class solution designed for the SME market. Geminare's unique RaaS solution delivered all the same benefits of the more expensive enterprise-class solutions but at a fraction of the cost and without added complexity.

In 2009, with the Cloud's emergence as a viable business option for businesses of all size, Geminare rapidly adapted, introducing its Recovery as a Service solution suite, affording SME's the opportunity to deploy Cloud Recovery and Cloud Storage rapidly and economically.

In 2010, Geminare introduced Cloud Storage Assurance 2.0, a next-generation cloud storage, indexing and archiving engine and the world's first auditable backup and archiving solution available to the SME market. Available as either a stand-alone managed service, or as an add-on to Geminare's Cloud Recovery service, CSA 2.0 is ideal for customers who are seeking auditable data archiving capabilities without having to invest in costly new infrastructure, staff or software.
