Solution Setup Process Overview for Cloud Recovery
1. Getting Started - Technical Readiness Assessment
Working together with one of Geminare's delivery Partners, you will build a business continuity plan and identify the availability requirements of your organization's critical servers and data.
2. Connecting to a Top Tier Data Center
Geminare is a fully integrated solution that requires no additional hardware, software, licensing, maintenance, training or support costs. Getting started with Geminare is as easy as having a certified Geminare Partner create a dedicated VPN connection to their Data Center facility. There is no agent required at the customer site, and no on-going maintenance.
3. Data Replication
Once you are connected to your Partner's Data Center, replication begins. Upon completion, all further data changes are replicated in real-time at the block level, greatly reducing the peak traffic load on your network. Geminare continuously performs consistency, permission and application-specific checks to ensure that replication and failover are running properly.
4. Failover Process
Geminare's solution monitors the operations of your servers 24/7. When communication with a production server fails or maintenance downtime is requested, the replica server at your Partner's Data Center will automatically initiate the failover process. Failover is transparent to end-users and services continue to run at the Data Center the same way they would in your production environment. Failover services are triggered automatically in the event of an unplanned outage, however they can also be manually triggered at any time for routine tasks such as server maintenance, with no prior scheduling required.
5. Failback Process
Organizations may run in failover mode from the Data Center for as long as they require, and up to 5 business days without additional cost. This gives you the opportunity to repair or replace servers that may have experienced an outage. When your organization is ready to restore the operation, a reverse replication and failover of the hosted servers and your production server occurs. This process is referred to as data synchronization and fallback, resulting in all processes being switched back to the restored production server. Just like the failover process, fallback is also transparent to end-users.
This entire backup disaster recovery process occurs without interruption to your critical business services, and is completely seamless to the users. There is no intervention required on the part of the customer, and there is no data loss. Business continues as usual.
